DIY and Easy Halloween Costume Ideas for Families

Our favorite time of year is quickly approaching! If you are like me, you’ve probably been thinking about your Halloween costume for quite some time now. I always try to pick something cute, fun, and relevant. It’s going to be our second Halloween with our baby boy and I’m loving it even more, now that we can do cute family costumes. I know he won’t always want to dress up with Mama and Dada, so I’m soaking it all in now!

Halloween 2023

Last year, we went as The Incredibles and I loved our costumes! I usually try to do a little more DIY, but with a new baby I figured Amazon would work just fine. And it did!! It was so easy and looked perfect. I guess, buying a Disney brand costume certainly helped!

I came up with this idea because our son’s hair and sweet round baby face always reminded me of Baby Jack Jack. It also worked out perfectly that I had a nice short hair cut and could style it to look almost exactly like Mrs. Incredible. Definitely loved our very first family costume.

Just a little FYI, maybe size up as the fabric is not very stretchy!!

Halloween 2024

This year, I’m so excited to get back to DIYing a little more. Now, I know some people will literally make their costumes from scratch, but I’m more of a semi-home made kinda gal. Thank you Amazon and Walmart!

As I said, I like to pick things that are trending and with the new Inside 2 movie that just came out, I thought what a fun and fitting costume for our family.

Mama is going to be Anxiety… I know, how perfect!? Dada is going to be Fear… he’s actually not the fearful type, but he liked the outfit best. Baby Boy is going to be Anger… I think it’s appropriate for a baby approaching the terrible twos!

The best part about this costume is that it’s open to anyone else who wants to join! Grandma can dress as Disgust and Grandpa can do the comfy cozy Embarrassment. I might even try to find a little something for our sweet puppy, Willow!

Here are the links to everything you need for this super fun costume!

Anxiety

Fear
